I'll be honest, the 2002 movie with Jim Caveziel (the Count)and Richard Harris( the priest), is one of my favorites and I would have bought this soap if it smelled like Ivory. This is my first Hoffman soap and....
Wow! I just shaved again this morning with this wonderful performing scent and soap(lathericious!).
Their is an unassuming complexity to this soap. Not an overbearing "cologny" smack in the nose, no, not at all. The floral notes are not powdery/flowery, they are of the woodland notes one just catches on the breeze during a late summer walk where lush fields meet the cooler shade of sheltering trees. For me, these idyllic scents are underneath the soft leather riding gloves and boots of a well groomed man who's weathered the storms of life. Refinement earned, scars honored.
The soap will always remind me of the exchange between Edmond Dantes( the Count) with the priest:
Edmond/Count: " but I don't believe in God", "that's okay, He believes in you". (the Priest)

Have to be honest I was a bit hesitant when picking this scent but Robert (The Hoff) told me it was a great scent and i wouldn’t be disappointed and not for the 1st time he recommended a scent that is absolutely fantastic. Hoffman’s does it again releasing banger after banger. Highly recommend this scent and as with all his shave soaps they lather super fast & easy possibly the easiest soaps to lather. Fantastic artwork, fantastic scent fantastic skin food ingredients.
